Memphis, TN – (October 16, 2023) – The Monogram Foods Loves Kids Foundation (MFLK), the charitable organization of Monogram Foods, announces today that 110 organizations in 11 communities where Monogram has facilities are the recipients of 2023 Annual Community Grants.

“We are so proud to support organizations in our Monogram Foods’ communities that help our most vulnerable citizens, children and their families,” says Monogram Foods’ CEO and President of the MFLKF Board Karl Schledwitz. “What is most unique about our giving program is that it is 100 percent led by our team members.”

Our local team members know best what type of support their communities need. That is why the grants process is run by a committee of employees at each Monogram Foods’ location; they review all applications and choose the organizations that receive a portion of the $60,000 per location. Executives are not involved in the selection process –– it is all left in the capable and caring hands of team members in the plants.

The mission of Monogram Foods Loves Kids is to support charitable organizations across Monogram’s footprint that help make the communities a better place to live and work by helping children and their families. The Fund also allows Monogram’s team members to make an impact in their communities through the workplace.

Some of the projects include a program in Boston, Massachusetts, that provides basic needs to babies born in impoverished communities including beds, cribs and more; a program in Stevens Point, Wisconsin, that provides culturally-relevant and nutritious meals to the children in Wisconsin’s Hmong community; and a program in Memphis, Tennessee, that provides transitional housing to homeless families.

The annual grants are made possible by the team members, owners, and suppliers of Monogram Foods.
